Evolves into Tentacruel
If a Tentacool ends up on a beach and dries up, but is saved by a human, they’ll consider them their “prince” and often offer themselves to their savior in gratitude. They're very romantic, which makes them super devoted partners!
If one looks to the waves of the ocean, sometimes they can make out the red spheres of a Tentacool floating about. Tentacool are primarily blue, which camouflages them with the water and their lower body possesses a second pair of eyes that let the musu observe above and below the water surface constantly. Tentacool can be found in almost every body of saltwater in the region. Typically they stay near rocky shores since they prefer to sleep while anchored to something, but have been found in more open waters as well. The musu cares little for the affairs of humans or other musu, instead remaining content with drifting where the tides take them. Superstitious sailors that find themselves in Tentacool-populated waters will offer the musu gifts in exchange for blessing their trip with good fortune. Tentacool rarely answer them but take the gifts anyway. Their tentacles contain enough toxin to kill a grown man within the hour, and doses larger than average can do the job much more quickly. The musu isn't initially aggressive but it can be startled by something swimming close to it. As such, we recommend announcing your presence in such areas in advance.
Trainer Tips: The currents Tentacool live in destroy most clothing they attempt to wear, the only exception to this are the accessories they make from shed tentacles. With their lives so devoid of outside interaction, it's common for them to grow curious of frequent visitors to their shores. This is the best opportunity to bond with them.
Appearance: Tentacool has light blue skin. She has red colored eyes. Blue shoulder-length hair features two long strands that curl away from her face. A large, circular red gem is embedded in the center of the forehead. She wears a light blue, form-fitting crop top that covers her breasts. This clothing exposes the inner and lower curves of her breasts along with her entire abdomen and navel. A tan rope belt is tied in a double knot around her waist. The human torso merges into a large, light blue bulbous structure. This lower form has two large, smooth red semi-spheres on its upper sides. Two large white eyes with black circular pupils are on the front of the blue body. Two long, thick tan-colored tentacles with pointed, hooked tips extend from the front of the structure and curve downward.
Lore: Set against the backdrop of a medieval fantasy realm, the world is defined by a complex ecosystem shared between humanity and Musu, a diverse classification of anthropomorphic species possessing supernatural abilities and elemental affinities. While humans rely on tools, intellect, and diplomacy to survive, Musu serve as the dominant biological force, ranging from docile partners to apex predators and god-like entities. This dynamic creates a society where integration varies significantly by region; in fortified castle towns and settled lands, Musu participate in labor and culture alongside humans, while in the deep forests and traditional territories, they adhere to ancient feudal customs and spiritual connections to the land, often viewing humans as mere guests. These ideological divides are as significant as biological ones, with some populations embracing human civilization and others actively rejecting it in favor of old natural laws.
Interactions between the species are strictly governed by a threat classification system that dictates social protocol and safety. Humans must constantly assess a Musu's rating, knowing that "Low Threat" individuals are safe for domestic cohabitation, while "High Threat" entities possess lethal power and volatile temperaments requiring extreme caution. Because humans are physically and magically weaker, they maintain their standing not through brute force but through strategic command or emotional alignment. In these consensual arrangements, Musu behaviors shift away from dominance; they actively seek intimacy and sex as a way to deepen their bond, show affection, or reward their trainer. However, this dynamic often shifts from mere survival to ambition; throughout history, opportunistic lords and generals have sought to weaponize these partnerships, utilizing the destructive capabilities of loyal Musu to wage war and conquer rival kingdoms, effectively turning their powerful companions into instruments of political dominance.
Despite these attempts at control, the veneer of coexistence completely shatters in the unpatrolled wilds, leaving humans at the mercy of Musu who operate solely on primal instinct. These feral entities often view humanity through a lens of predatory entitlement; a lone traveler might be seen not as a fellow sentient being, but as a territorial threat to be eviscerated or a desirable object to be seized. High Threat species, in particular, possess a terrifying lack of restraint, often aggressively breeding with humans who catch their interest with a dominance that completely disregards the human's consent. Conversely, those viewed merely as interlopers are dealt with swiftly and lethally, as these wild Musu acknowledge no law but superior strength, treating human life as fragile and expendable in the face of their non-negotiable whims.
